A good friend of mine has a Down Syndrome son. When he was a teenager and in Sunday school, the Sunday School teacher had each person in the class bring something to remind everyone of the true meaning of the Easter Holiday season. Many brought pictures of Jesus, a few dresses up like the disciples. But Brett brought a plastic egg about the size of a grown ups hand.

The Sunday teacher said, “This is nice Brett, but Easter eggs really have nothing to do with the true meaning of Easter.”

You could hear a few chuckles, but Brett said, “No! It’s what’s inside! Look!”

The teacher opened it and there was nothing inside at all? “I don’t understand Brett? Nothing is here.”

“It’s empty!” Brett exclaimed! “It’s empty! Just like Easter morning when they went to the tomb of Jesus, It was empty too!”
