The Vineyard Wine Market

Bus Trip To Chateau Elan

WE WILL BE POSTING MORE PHOTOS SHORTLY
Fifty adventurous tasters took advantage of Vineyard Wine Market’s tour bus to Château Èlan’s 14th Annual Wine Fest held Sunday. One thousand were on hand to sample wines from around the world and from across the state.
Leaving Evans at 10am the 50 tasters arrived in time for the 1PM start, complete with live entertainment, food, drink and of course wine. But we can’t forget the two breweries were on hand, Terrapin from just down the road in Athens and newcomer O’Dempsey’s Beer from Atlanta, showing off their Big Red Ale and their soon to be released Inukshuk IPA.
Twelve distributors and wineries (and Château Èlan itself) represented 74 different wines from around the US and the World in the Pavilion Hall in the bottom of the winery. That was the start for the 1,000 attending, as they moved into the adjacent Cask and Vat rooms were nine Georgia wineries presented 58 more wines, broadening some tasters’ experience to such wines as Jasmine Fruit Wine, Apple Temptation and Rocking Chair Red.
The afternoon was also filled with wine seminars, cooking demonstrations and of course the annual grape stomping ritual.
