The Vineyard Wine Market

Wine Cruise-Oct. 13

Wednesday was a night to travel two by two–two wines from France, two from Germany, two from Italy and two from Napa. It was a nice way to introduce some wine-themed packages from Trip Quest Travel Services. One is an 8 day river cruise through the Rhone region October 2011. Think about it! A trip up the Rhone River in France stopping at all the small towns along the way and tasting their wines! The other cruise is around Italy stopping at the beautiful ports enjoying wines we never heard of before.
For those preferring land a California Wine Train tour departs San Francisco July 11 that visits Napa and Hollywood.

The tasters were treated to the usual great nibbles at the Vineyard and some door prizes handed out by the Trip Quest folks.

Here are the wine we tasted:

Luna Nada Pinot Grigio 2008
What: Golden reflections in the glass tell you right away that you are going to taste a different Pinot Grigio. This is not your standard Pinot Grigio. Soft lemon and lime flavors with a little golden delicious apple for good measure. Nice weight and mouth feel with a little mineral or wet stone to add complexity. Simply lovely. Fresh…very fresh….great by itself or with many dishes…simply prepared fish, sushi, salads, light tapas, and much more. If you like Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, or many aromatic whites you will love this wine. In one word…elegant.–From their website
